В садоводстве широко используется Г. осенний (Н. autumnale) - многолетник с крупными цветочными корзинками в щитковидных соцветиях. Садовые формы и сорта гибридного происхождения объединяют под названием Г. гибридный (Н. hybridum); они различны по высоте и различаются окраской цветочных корзинок - комбинациями жёлтых, коричневых и красно-пурпуровых оттенков. Цветут во второй половине лета и осенью.
